River Front Park
Located just south of junction of Haney-Bypass , Lougheed Highway and Kanaka Way. Heading south on Lougheed Highway turn right on River Rd to park entrance. The park stretches from the Frasier River to 240 street via Kanaka Creek Parkway. This park is part of the Trans Canada Trail connected by the Rainbow Bridge over the Kanaka creek. You will view open meadows and a cottonwood forest. In the 1920's, the mouth of Kanaka Creek was home to the log dumping facility of the Abernathy and Lougheed Logging Company. Steam trains loaded with logs came from nearby lands, including Golden Ears Provincial Park.
